Book design

For the Dorchester Historical Society, Hood Design designed a 112-page book documenting the collections of each of three house museums the Society owns in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood. Text by Faith Ferguson places each object into a context of Boston's social, architectural, and decorative arts history.

The front and back covers are wrapped with an image of George Hollingworth's c. 1825 oil painting "View from Pope's Hill, toward Boston Harbor," depicting a settlement with two houses designed by Charles Bulfinch near the site of the present John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum.
