Massachusetts Remembers September 11
Graphic identity
Massachusetts' official observation of the tenth anniversary of the attacks of September 11, 2001 were held at the Hatch Memorial Shell on the Charles River Esplanade. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts lost over two hundred of its citizens on that day. Planning for the ten-year anniversary brought together many communities: families that lost members, religious leaders of many faiths, civic leaders, first responders, and a host of social service agencies. A theme of memory, hope, and healing was adopted.
The identity produced by Hood Design was less a logo, and more a kit of images that combined in a dynamic collage-like way. Central to the identity was use of the sky. A singular, overhead body that all of us live beneath.
